Glasgow Southsider and Giffnock North member. Keen endurance trail runner, technically poor short distance runner. I took up running after my sporting life seemed to fall off a cliff after school and Uni.
After doing a few road marathons got into Ultras with my first being the Kintyre way a few years ago. Highlights would be 3 LAMMS, Tiree Ultra and the Cape Wrath Ultra in 2016. CWU being a life highlight let alone a running one. Did the Fling and Devil in 2017.
Why the WHW?
When you run all over Scotland its a more a case of why not?! The event also allows friends and family to really feel part of the event and create a team like atmosphere. I’m looking forward to that.
Getting to know more of the fantastic ultra crowd in Scotland it just feels the natural next step and certainly the next step in terms of distance to test myself. The event seems to have retained its raw feel which I love too.
Aim for the race?
Under 20hrs, that’s all I’ll say just now.
I should probably say to enjoy it and complete it but I’d be lying!
