Best known as Wee Kev, 40 years old from Port Glasgow. I am a Sergeant with Police Scotland road policing department and have the pleasure of working in the stunning Argyll area. Married to Karen with 2 grown up children.
I only started running properly in Dec 2014 after deciding to stop smoking and get myself fitter, my first ultra was GO33 in 2015 after just 11 months training from 0 and at that time it was the hardest thing I’d ever done. I’ve now completed GO33 three times, the Fling and Jedburgh this year also.
Why the WHW race?
I remember being told about the race a few years ago before I’d taken running seriously and thought that there was no way I’d ever be able to do it, but life is about always moving forward and taking on bigger challenges. I’ve always wanted to walk the WHW but looks like I’ll run it first.
Aim for the race?
I’m hoping to finish in around 24 hrs but even being on the starting line is a privilege and finishing a great achievement, hoping to complete the triple crown this year so one more entry to go.
