Ross Beveridge

Bio

Hi. I’m Ross. Im 38 and I live in East Lothian with my wife, Alice, my 2 kids Aria (5) and Ayren (2) and my 3 dogs. I have my own dog walking business and I volunteer at a small dog rescue organisation in my spare time. The rest of the time, I run!

Ultra History

My very first Ultra was the Jedburgh 3 Peaks in 2015 and I’ve been back every year since. I had an epic year last year and managed to complete 11 Ultras in the calendar year including the Triple Crown and the Glenmore 24. I’m trying to dial it back a bit this year but I find it really hard to not enter races once I find out about them online!

Why the WHW?

After my first WHW race last year, although I found it really tough, I always wanted to come back and do it again at some point as it’s just such an amazing race. I didn’t think it would be this year but as soon as entries opened I couldn’t help but throw my name into the ballot. Thankfully I got through and I am really looking forward to coming back and hopefully beating my previous time and performing a little better in the latter stages.

Aim for the race?

I completed the race last year in slightly over 28 hours. Plan A this year is to complete the race. Plan B is to complete in under 28 hours. Plan C is to complete in under 24 hours. I know that’s a big ask but I think I can do it given the right training, fitness levels and luck on the day. Fingers crossed!
