I live in the Western Isles with my partner Tom, our dog Captain, a few sheep, chickens, and whatever else Tom has snuck in since I last checked.
I’m proud to have simultaneously won and come dead last in a race (the Mountain Rescue Team section of the Spine Challenger 2017). I ran in the WHW in 2018 and can’t wait to get out there again.
Why the WHW?
When I moved up to the Hebrides 2 years ago I told myself it would be a good time to enjoy shorter distances again for a few years. Then I heard about the West Highland Way race from friends who’ve crewed it or walked the route, and that was that.
Aim for the race?
My main goal is to finish without putting my support crew through too much, but I’m happy with my running this year and I’m hoping it will pay off in extra enjoyment and a quicker time.
