Bio

44 year old Industrial Access Supervisor from Nairn in the Highlands, Ive spent the best part of my working life abseiling around the world on any oil rig that needs maintained. Im single however do have a son who’s coming up for 21.

Ultra History

Quite new to the ultra scene, I started running a bit of distance in 2015 after being told to get a hold of myself by the doctor as I drank and smoked far too much, went from couch to Le Marathon des Sables in about 18 months and just continued from there. Last few years have seen some 50km trail races and shorter ultra events in Scotland, Northern Ireland & England, I also do a few Hardmoors 26.2 series races through the season and have Hardmoors 55, Highland Fling, WHWR & Glenmore24 on this years calendar.

Why West Highland Way?

For me its a fabulous opportunity take part in an event that will put my mental & physical ability to the test. Im also really excited about running alongside everyone, there is an unfathomable amount of experience hitting the WHW in June, hopefully Il learn a few things along the way.

Aim for the race?

Finishing is the obvious answer however I want to do as well as I can within my ability, I would be delighted to finish around 26 hours and give myself a decent benchmark with it being my first time out on the WHW.
