Andrew Brooks

A Derbyshire lad, just about to turn 50 and 20 years into my ultra running mid-life crisis.

Ultra History

I’ve been taking part in ultras for the past 20 years, with a macabre attraction to challenging routes with plenty of elevation. Highlights over the years include completing the Mongolia Sun Rise to Sunset 100k, Massenutten Mountain Trails (100m), Lakeland 100, King Offas Dyke Race (185m) and sneaking the odd victory when nobody good turned up.

Why the WHW?

The WHW Race has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I love Scotland and the West Highlands in particular, so thought it about time I stopped making excuses about work, life, injuries, other races etc. getting in the way.

Aim for the race?

To run a wise race and reach the finish line in time for a pint on Saturday night.
