We can confirm that registration for the ballot for 2027 West Highland Way Race will open on Tuesday 1st October 2026 and will remain open until Wednesday 14th October.
The ballot results will be announced as soon as possible before the end of October.
In a change to previous years, runners will be asked to provide payment details at time of entering and runners who are successful in the ballot will have payment taken when the ballot results are published.
In a further change, for the 2027 race we will maintain a waiting list which will remain open until the end of April 2027. In the event that a runner withdraws from the race a place will be offered to the next suitably qualified person on the wait list.
In light of this change we also propose to review our withdrawal and refund policy with a view to offering a more substantial refund to runners who withdraw before the wait list closes.
