Wilson Dornan

Bio

My name is Wilson Dornan from Aberdeen, on the day of the race I will be 46 years old.

Ultra History

I took up running in the winter of 2009 and ran my first ultra (The Speyside Way) in 2013 and now ran around 20 ultra marathons.

Why West Highland Way?

The WHW was something I had heard about as a child. Many years later I heard about it again when I started running. I gradually got more and more into ultra running and last June I come along to the race and stopped at several places to watch. I saw some of the faster guys at Bridge of Orcy then some time later Caroline McKay leave Glencoe and Lorna MacMillan leave Kinlochleven. I was in awe at these guys. The day after I sat and watched all the finishers get their goblets in Fort William. I have never felt goosebumps and such a desire to do anything let alone a race. I was very lucky to get a final ballot place.

Aim for the race?

I will be the happiest ever person to step foot on the WHW all going well and I complete the race however my goal is to try for the 24 hours.
