Bio

I’m 42 with 3 kids, I’m an infant school teacher and I’m married to Stephen who is also running this year. We live on the edge of the Peak District where I do most of my training. I co-lead a running group for my WI and have taken over 20 ladies of all ages and stages of life through the Couch-to-5k programme.

Ultra History

I ran my first ultra at Kielder in 2015. I have ran 6 ultras since then. I especially love the Hardmoors race series and the Dig Deep races which start a mile from my house!

Why West Highland Way?

The West Highland way Race is the reason I started running. I support crewed for Stephen in 2013 and I thought it was the most incredible event ever. I sobbed my way through the awards ceremony and decided that I would start to run.

I ran my first half marathon in 2014, my first 30 miler in 2015 and my first 50 miler in 2016. As I stood in Milngavie last year I realised I actually qualified for the race and decided to enter in 2017. Needless to say, I’m rather excited about it.

Aim for the race?

I genuinely just want to finish. I’ve already got spreadsheets galore, 3 pairs of new Hokas and more kit than I care to mention. What could possibly go wrong? I’ll be running (staggering) the dream.
