Bio

I am 54 years old, live in London with my wife Zhanna and our youngest son Sasha. The other 3 children have all left home. We recently returned to the UK after over 20 years living in Russia, Argentina, Costa Rica and Poland.
Ultra History
I was a keen runner at school and always dreamed of doing a marathon which I first did in London in 1991. I thought that would be it but did it again in 1994 and 1999. With work and a young family I never had much time for running but would do the odd marathon and have now done around 23. Having enjoyed cross country at school I then heard while living in Argentina about a 100k race over the Andes. This ignited my interest in ultras and over the last 10 years have completed around 25 ultras including twice completing La Mision, a 100 mile race in the Andes and 3 WHWs.
Why whw race?
I have completed the WHW race 3 times and have become hooked. It is such a beautiful course and as my family comes from Scotland means a lot to me.
Aim for the race?
Firstly, to make amends for last year when I dropped out at Glencoe through injury, I just want to complete the race. I would love to run a PB which for me would mean beating my 2016 time of 29:42.
